A Maryland woman is facing attempted murder charges after she reportedly set her occupied home on fire before taking a seat in a lawn chair to watch it burn.

Gail Metwally, 47, was caught watching as her home burned down last Thursday.

According to the Daily Mail, the incident was filmed by an unidentified man.

“She just f***ing lit the trash can on fire!” he said. “Oh my f***ing God, this is not happening right now! She lit the f**king house! Oh my God! I cannot actually believe my eyes. I cannot actually believe it, and she’s sitting there just chillin’- watching the house go up flames.”

The man was rather vocal as he observed the arson attempt.

“Like yeah, I’m watching the s**t go down!” he continued. “Oh, my God, this is, this is now turned into a serious, serious thing!”

Officials state that Metwally then observed the fire from a lawn chair before walking way.

Eventually, shouts for help were heard from a basement window and bystanders assisted in evacuating a woman.

Metwally is reported to suffer from severe mental illness.
