A California woman faked three pregnancies and falsely claiming she was the wife of a firefighter walked off with over $2,000 in donations- and now she’s paying the price.

San Clemente wedding planner Ashley Bemis not only faked being pregnant three times (using pillows to appear pregnant), she claimed that her non-existent husband, Shane Goodman, was battling the Holy Hell wildfire back in 2018.

Taking her sob story to social media, she scammed generous donors out of two grand in monetary donations -under the guise of “helping firefighters” at the Holy Hell Fire- and gifts for the baby.

According to the Daily Mail, Bemis had faked pregnancies in the past, scamming unsuspecting victims for items that she would later sell.

Bemis has since been charged with grand theft, second-degree burglary, witness intimidation and making false financial statements. On Friday, she pleaded guilty to one count of grand theft and four counts of second-degree burglary.

On Monday, the ex-wedding planner was sentenced to 177 days in jail.
