If you have ever wondered what a firefighter would do for a resident this video will answer your question.
Heavy fire on arrival, reports residents are trapped in a back bedroom.
No hose line and the firefighters initiated a VES operation or Vent, Enter, Search.
This is an operation where firefighters will enter through outside windows without the protection of a hoseline and conduct searches looking for potential victims.
Ladder Company 2 is the crew conducting the operation. – Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Facebook Page
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue posted this video to their Facebook Page Saturday November 7th. It has already gained a lot of attention.
The first question asked is where is the hose line? But, they show a textbook technique of doing a Vent, Enter, Search (VES) operation when someone goes in without a hose line to search for known victims inside.
Many comments were made on their page about the video.
I think everyone agrees that they went above the board here and were true heroes.
Good Job Ladder 2!
