Those with fantasies of living the “Baywatch” dream take note- it pays to be a lifeguard in Los Angeles.
A recent report by Forbes noted that the highest-paid lifeguards in LA are making $392,000 a year, with an average number of lifeguards coming in over $200,000 a year.
Around seven lifeguards made more than $300k, while eighty-two were making over $200k.
According to the New York Post, “acting chief lifeguard” Fernando Boiteux, who made $391,971 with salary ($205,619), perks ($60,452), and benefits ($125,900) in 2019.
It should be noted that living in Los Angeles is incredibly expensive and that the job of a lifeguard in the Golden State is no walk in the park.

California public employees cost taxpayers approximately $45 billion a year.
