A truck driving at 100 miles-per-hour rammed into Ellinwood, Kansas’ only fire station, and destroyed the building and two engines.

According to KSN, firefighters were inside the building at the time of Tuesday night’s crash.

The truck plowed right through one of the bay doors and struck two of the town’s three brush trucks, which are now considered unusable. The collision also started a fire inside the building.

The driver of the truck, had to be extricated and transported to the local hospital. He is expected to live.

Firefighters say they were able to contain the fire quickly and then work on pulling the driver out of the truck.

The Department says they’ll be out of operation for at least six months, but are hoping surrounding departments assist until all of the repairs can be made.
