Possible explosion at Texas oil refinery leaves multiple people injured

A fire at an ExxonMobile oil refinery in Texas has left multiple people injured and believed to have set off an explosion.

According to NBC News, at least three people were airlifted to the hospital. The Harris County Sheriff has advised people to avoid the refinery in Baytown. In a follow up they increased the number of injured to four. All four are believed to be in stable condition, though the extent of their injuries is uncertain.

Exxon stated they have an emergency response team on-site to control the fire.

Residents claim they heard an explosion, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed if one happened.

The plant houses a chemical plant, oil refinery, and an olefins plant.
