Firefighters from F28 Homerton Fire Station in East London were called at 10:12hrs yesterday, 7th May 2005 to a child trapped between a Workman’s container and a Wall. First arriving Crews tried to pull the child free but he was stuck by his middle. Firefighters planned to use airbags and jacks to move the container away from the wall. But when the Fire Rescue Unit from A23 Euston Fire Station arrived, they deployed their 60Ton large airbags which were able to free the child within seconds. The Fire Rescue Unit is one of Ten New Units for the London Fire Brigade to replace the five older Units. The New Units have an enhanced rescue Capability including CBRN, USART, and Line Rescue kit.
