LAND O’ LAKES — A person using a wheelchair was rescued from a fire that broke out in a trailer in the 12000 block of Price Lane on Wednesday afternoon, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.

The resident, whose name was not released, was flown to Tampa General Hospital for emergency medical treatment. The cause of the fire and what time it started were not released by officials.

When firefighters arrived, they said fire and heavy smoke could be seen from inside the residence. They went inside to search the trailer and found the resident, the agency said.

The medical status of the resident was not disclosed late Wednesday. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
