NYPD firefighters take down cyclist after he knocks out an elderly man in a random attack

A gaggle of Brooklyn firefighters chased down a man on a bicycle after he slugged a woman near their fire station, eventually taking him down and holding him until police arrived.

In another case of NYC showing its best and worst side, the mad lads of Engine 214/Ladder 111 were filmed as they took after Daniel Biggs, who was attempting to make his getaway after sucker-punching a 60-year-old woman.

The senior citizen was reportedly punched in the mouth, and it is unknown why Biggs carried out the attack.

The shorts-wearing firefighters were in hot pursuit and kept up with Biggs, who ultimately failed to elude them.

In the end, Biggs was brought to the ground, and pinned in place until NYPD could arrive.

Soon, footage captured from both security cameras and cell phones made its rounds on various social media sites.

“Don’t forget Firefighters are HUGE Patriots especially FDNY!” a re-post of the video said. “They also work very closely with the NYPD all the time! They are good people & will@not stand for crime. @fdny @nypd THANK YOU.”

Biggs was charged with assault, menacing, harassment and attempted assault.

Despite being arraigned the following day and ordered held on $20,000, he managed to be released without bail.
