A firefighter and his blushing nurse bride are facing some ribbing from the court of public opinion, after their “tasteless” cake topper debuted on social media.
The couple’s cake went viral after a TikTok user named Scotty V posted a video of the topper to the internet.
The topper in question shows a firefighter in bunker gear, sneakily placing his hand up his nurse hat-wearing bride’s dress, exposing blue underwear.
“I have never, ever seen a cake topper like this,” ScottyV said.
The clip racked up over 92,200 likes in 48 hours, and the internet was a predictable combination of ruthless and amused.
“There’s the something blue,” one commenter wrote, alluding to the old wedding adage of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”

Others poked fun at the situation, namely the professions of the bride and groom.
“They met in the ER,” wrote a user.
“She’s the doctor. But, he’s the one taking her temperature,” added another.
One more cynical user had a less-than-optimistic outlook:
“Look, it’s the official cake topper of a three year marriage.”
