Firefighters in New Orleans tackled a tough warehouse fire this morning, which overwhelmed a warehouse in the Bayou St. John area.
The warehouse fire took out three businesses, including Nola Til You Die Apparel and a furniture store.
“We are absolutely heartbroken,” Nola Til Ya Die posted on social media.
According to NOLA, NOFD Chief Tim McConnell reported no injuries and added that the fire had started around 5 AM, with fire crews working well past 7 to put out the blaze.
“It is going to be a difficult fire,” McConnell said, adding that firefighters are unable to enter due to safety concerns and structural issues. “At this point, we’re outside fighting a defensive fire and trying to make sure it doesn’t spread to any other buildings.”
An older building, the warehouse is near an apartment complex and a branch of the US Postal Service.
