Lightning strike starts massive house fire; six people displaced

Six people are without a place to live after a fire ripped through a New Jersey residence.

The fire, which was apparently started by a lightning strike, was reported around 4:30 in the morning on Monday.

According to the Daily Voice, fire units from Rutherford, East Rutherford, Wallington, Lyndhurst, North Arlington, Carlstadt and Secaucus responded.

The fire raged into the late morning, with units on scene well after 9 AM.

One police officer was treated for smoke inhalation.
