Italian paramedic nabbed in suspected mafia undertaker scheme

An Italian paramedic is under arrest after being suspected of killing people to collect money from mafia funeral homes.

42-year-old Davide Garofalo is alleged to have injected air into the veins of terminally ill patients in order to kill them during transport from the hospital to their homes, all to the tune of around $300 per corpse.

The ambulance worker reportedly would refer families to specific undertakers, who would then give Garofalo a cut of the profits.

According to the Independent, the embolism-giver was outed after a former Mafia man tipped off investigative reporters. Since then, fifty deaths have been examined, with twelve worthy of the term “particularly meaningful.”

Garofalo has been charged with three counters of voluntary homicide.
