Richmond firefighters found a body inside a warehouse after an explosion started a two-alarm fire on Friday morning.
According to WTVR, firefighters were called to the scene around 2:30 a.m.
The fire spread quickly throughout the warehouse and eventually forced the crew to call for backup and raise the level to a two-alarm.
It took roughly 50 firefighters to put the fire out.
The department believes a gas tank exploded, which caused the fire. One witness described it, “Every single person that came down to check it out said they felt the building shake — like it was an earthquake. That’s how loud it was. That’s how much of an effect it had on everybody.”
The body was found after the fire had been contained and firefighters were able to perform an extensive search inside the burned-out building.
