LEHIGH ACRES, Florida — A “hangry” alligator challenged the traditional food chain in the parking lot of a Wendy’s restaurant.
Some customers were chased by the the 6-foot alligator in the restaurant’s parking lot on Monday, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. No one was injured, but it definitely wasn’t what customers were expecting.
“He may have just been ‘hangry’ for a cheeseburger, but he gave many quite the scare!” the sheriff’s department said in a tweet.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Lehigh Acres Fire Department helped capture the alligator. Wildlife officials tell NBC 2 the gator likely was just trying to move from one body of water to another.
The alligator was relocated to a nearby farm, NBC 2 reports.
