Monmouth County authorities say a drunken driver struck and killed a volunteer firefighter who was directing traffic during a minor chemical spill. Joseph Walsh was 76. It happened Wednesday night outside Keansburg High School. Walsh suffered head and leg injuries and died yesterday.

Authorities have charged Kristina Gogger with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and other motor vehicle counts.

Prosecutors say the 26-year-old South Amboy resident could face additional charges.
