Firefighters respond to restroom fire at Chesapeake restaurant

The Chesapeake Fire Department responded Wednesday afternoon to a bathroom fire at a restaurant.

Dispatch was called around 1:35 p.m. for the fire at Spaghetti Eddie’s at 3325 Taylor Road.

Engine 12 arrived at the restaurant within five minutes of the call, the fire department said in a news release. Firefighters reported light smoke was visible from the restaurant.

Crews found a small fire in the women’s bathroom that was under control about five minutes after they arrived at the scene. The fire was out just before 2 p.m., the department said.

The fire department did not say what caused the fire and said it is still under investigation.

No one was injured, and as a precaution, the neighboring businesses were evacuated, the department said.
