Firefighter who rescued trapped puppy is now adopting him

The North Charleston Fire captain who pulled a trapped puppy out of some rocks is now giving the dog a new home, his.

According to WTNH, Capt. Paul Bryant says he learned the dog would go to the shelter and decided to step in and adopt the pup, who will now be named Rocky.

Bryant says his family has been without a pet for the last three years and were searching for another dog.

The firefighters still don’t know how Rocky got trapped under the rocks, but are thankful a couple of cyclists heard the puppy’s cries and called them to rescue the animal.
