AKRON, Ohio — An Akron firefighter is accused of shooting a man in the shoulder during a domestic incident, police said.
Enrique Green, 31, is charged with felonious assault in the Feb. 4 incident at a house on McKinley Avenue, police said in a news release.
He turned himself in Friday at the Akron Police Department. His arraignment is scheduled Saturday in Akron Municipal Court.
Green, who has been with the Akron Fire Department for six years, is currently on paid administrative leave, police said.
Green was visiting a woman just before 4 a.m. when her ex-boyfriend showed up. The two men argued, and the ex-boyfriend grabbed a brick and tried to throw it at Green, police said.
Green fired a shot at the ex-boyfriend that struck him in the shoulder, police said.
The ex-boyfriend drove himself to Summa Akron City Hospital for treatment.
Investigators did not say whether the ex-boyfriend is facing charges in the incident.
Green has a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon, police said.
