A Florida firefighter was charged with making a false report for pulling a fire alarm during his supervisor's birthday celebration at a lounge, police said. Recently released records said Charles Robert Sunser, 31, was arrested Saturday on the misdemeanor charge after he allegedly pulled the alarm at The Element lounge in Port St. Lucie during a February party for his supervisor, TCPalm.com reported Wednesday.

“I did something stupid, I'm very drunk and didn't mean to cause trouble,” the Port St. Lucie police report quotes Sunser as saying. “We are here for my boss's birthday, I'm sorry.”

Sunser identified himself as a Riviera Beach firefighter and said he “got really drunk and made a mistake.”

The owner of the Element Lounge said two employees witnessed Sunser activate the fire alarm by the front door. The owner, whose name was not released, said he wanted to press charges due to the “malicious nature” of Sunser's actions and the lost revenue from the “disruption and evacuation.”
