WORCESTER – A two-alarm fire heavily damaged a house on Sandra Drive on Sunday afternoon.

The fire was reported at about 4:30 p.m., and police, who arrived quickly, radioed that they could see smoke and flames pouring from the building. A dispatcher said a 911 caller reported that everyone was out of the house.

Firefighters reported smoke could be seen from Massasoit Road as they drove to the home. They radioed that there was heavy fire on the first and second floors of the two-story house as they arrived.

One resident and one firefighter suffered minor injuries, the Fire Department said. Both were taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to the Fire Department.

The department’s Fire Investigation Unit was called in to determine the cause of the blaze.
