An Alaskan Fire/Rescue Chief diverted his casual drive to lunch to an apartment fire and used a garden hose to contain the flames.
According to Juneau Empire, Capital City Fire/Rescue Chief Rich Etheridge was driving by the fire when he heard the call over his scanner. He immediately turned his vehicle around and arrived at the scene before his crews.
Chief Etheridge then grabbed a nearby garden hose and began attacking the flames while telling people to clear out.
Nobody was injured, and crews arrived shortly to assist the chief.
