A fire chief in the Florida Panhandle has been arrested and charged with the murder of a Pensacola business owner.
Baker Fire Department Chief Brian Keith Easterling, 52, was taken in by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office for an incident that took place on Sunday.
ECSO reports that Easterling was seen on a security camera as he murdered the 63-yea-old shopkeeper during a dispute.
Surveillance video from the shop showed how the homicide unfolded,” read an agency release. “Brian Keith Easterling entered the business and shot the business owner over a dispute about prior business deals, where the victim allegedly owed Easterling money.”
According to WEAR, Easterling’s fire jurisdiction falls under nearby Okaloosa County.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
Escambia County is home to several military installations, including Pensacola Naval Air Station, Whiting Field NAS and others.
