FDNY firefighter gets leg crushed as SUV rolls over while he tried to pull out driver

A member of the FDNY suffered a significant leg injury while responding to a motor vehicle crash in Manhattan, Sunday afternoon, NBC News reported.

The incident occurred in Hell’s Kitchen, at West 42nd Street and 11th Avenue, when one of the vehicles shifted and fell on top of the firefighter, crushing his leg, the report states.

NBC News reported that several firefighters were at the scene to stabilize a BMW that was involved in the crash when the incident happened.

The firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital where he was being treated for a broken femur, the report states.

The cause of the accident is unknown, and there were no injuries to other responding units.
