It was a tragic scene June 18 when an explosion happened at an illegal factory in China killing six people.
Feeling devastated, the exhausted man sat on the floor and cried uncontrollably — his wife was inside the building, and she was gone.
The Daily Mail reports the unidentified firefighter tried to save his wife after the explosion rocked the plant in Huanghua, Hebei Province.
The first responder was wearing his uniform when he collapsed and wept. One of his colleagues tried to comfort him as the fireman realized his loss.
The heart-breaking moment, captured on a video and shared to YouTube, shows the first responder wearing his uniform and crying uncontrollably.
According to The Daily Mail, the Jing Ke Plastic Processing Factory had apparently been suspended for violating environmental regulations a few months before the fatal blast ripped it apart.
The owner kept the factory running illegally despite the suspension order.
The Daily Mail reports seven workers were inside the factory at the time of the explosion, according to People’s Daily.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in about an hour.
Six of the workers died, including the firefighter’s wife. One was left injured.
The Daily Mail reports the cause of the explosion is under investigation.
