Central Coast bushfires


NSW Fire Brigades’ units from Bateau Bay, Berkley Vale, Wyong and Budgewoi worked solidy for four hours to extinguish a bushfire which broke out at Tumbi Umbi on the State’s central coast. The fire was reported at around 12.30 pm on 11 October.

When firefighters arrived they were confronted by a fire burning towards houses in Adelaide St. Fire crews immediately set up property protection and put containment strategies in place. The fire consumed approximately two hectares of bush but nobody was hurt, nor any poperty damaged.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
