Cancer surviving Paramedic helps young cancer patient accomplish bucket list

A New Mexican paramedic who survived cancer is helping a young former patient of hers to accomplish the goals on his bucket list.

Rio Rancho-area Paramedic Jennifer Saiz beat her own battle with cancer, but her former patient -10-year-old Elijah Dimas- has a long way to go.

Taking it upon herself, Saiz wants to help Elijah accomplish his goals, just in case time runs out.

“Visit the Pokémon center in Japan, get Nickelodeon slimed,” Elijah said of his bucket list.

For Saiz, the mission is personal.

“When they posted his bucket list and said they were stopping most of the treatment, I knew I wanted to do something for him,” said Saiz.

According to KRQE, Saiz met the family after she transported the boy and was struck by his upbeat attitude.

When she saw that the young lad wanted to go to a Raiders game, she started a crowd-funding page to pay for the game, airfare and lodging.

Since starting the fund, she has since raised enough money to get Elijah to Oakland by the 17th, in order to watch the Raiders play off against the Dallas Cowboys.
