An explosion has ripped through a shopping center in South Florida, causing at least 20 injuries and possibly fatalities.
Local fire authorities in the town of Plantation report that several individuals have been sent to the hospital for injuries following a blast that devastated several buildings, including an LA Fitness Center.
“We thought it was thunder at first, and then we felt the building shake and things started falling. I looked outside and it was almost like the world was ending,” said Alex Carver, who works across the street. “It was nuts, man. It was crazy.”
Search and rescue dogs could be seen scouring the rubble for survivors.
It is unknown if there are any fatalities at this time, and fire crews are claiming that the explosion came from a gas leak.

According to WPTV, 20 individuals sustained injuries during the incident.
