UPDATE: Local authorities have confirmed there are multiple fatalities and numerous injuries onboard the Amtrak train and several injured motorists on the highway below following today’s derailment from a busy interstate overpass in Washington State.

A train derailment in Washington State this morning is wreaking havoc on commuters taking Interstate 5 in Pierce County.
Part of an Amtrak train fell off of the tracks and onto the highway below. There are multiple injuries and casualties being reported though no official numbers have been given.

The local CBS affiliate is reporting that First Responders are treating this as a mass casualty incident.
