An 11-year-old boy drowned this week in a murky backyard swimming pool. Police identified the boy as Robert Adam Estes, who lived with father Lester Estes and stepmother Regina.
Robert, who would have been a sixth-grader this year, was visiting the home Wednesday with a 12-year-old brother and a nephew who is 6, family members said.
The parents of the household were away. A baby sitter and two boys at the home attempted to rescue the child.
When police and firefighters arrived, they couldn’t see the boy because of the murky, green water. Three firefighters went into the in-ground pool and found him 8 feet deep. They tried in vain to revive him.
