The body of a Marylander -who had been missing for about a few days- has been pulled out of Baltimore Harbor, according to local authorities.

Tara Savannah Payne was found in the waters near the Canton district on Thursday.

An autopsy will be conducted shortly.

Payne was last seen on Tuesday, when she went to celebrate her 26th birthday with friends.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Payne is the daughter of Jimmy Payne, a Baltimore firefighter and diver who has since retired.

Mr. Payne was familiar with the area, as he had performed rescues and recoveries in the area before.

“For me, it’s surreal to be in the same spot where I have rescued people and helped bring people home,” Payne said.

Homicide detectives are looking into the matter.
