Berks firefighters respond to 4-alarm blaze at Chester County apartment complex

Berks County fire departments have responded to a call for assistance to fight a four-alarm fire in Chester County.

According to initial reports, the blaze at the Ashwood Apartments, 782 Worth Blvd., North Coventry Township, broke out about 8 p.m.

Multiple people were reported to be trapped in the burning building, and a rescue effort is underway, according to initial reports.
