Five less-than-honorable individuals were arrested after they reportedly stole from vehicles of residents who fled their homes in the midst of the California wildfires.

Lisette Topete, Juan Carrillo, Maryann Zuniga, David Rosales and Jasmine Zavala were all arrested after a December 5 crime spree- when the individuals in question took advantage of the chaos.

According to PIX 11, the victims’ vehicles were easy targets. Laden down with whatever they could pack before fleeing, the families stayed at safe locations, including one family who stayed with friends.

Around $75,000 in high-end property was stolen, including a stolen credit card with $10,000 of charges.

Using the card as a clue, police tracked the charges down to the Channel Islands Inn and served a search warrant on a room, where they found Zavala, Zuniga and Carillo.

Rosales and Topete were arrested on unrelated charges, respectively.
